CO2 emissions in the real estate sector must be reduced quickly. But what is not measured cannot be controlled in a targeted manner: Our live data on consumption and generation in properties enables the most effective use of electricity, gas, heat and water in everyday life.

We are a young Berlin start-up that supports sustainability and also lives it in our day-to-day business. We are looking for a Legal Counsel in Berlin at the earliest possible date.

In this role, you will analyze complex legal issues and keep a close eye on risks. Your goal is not only to identify problems, but also to develop solid and practical solutions for our team.

Responsibilities

  • You will provide comprehensive legal advice to senior management and our internal departments on issues at the intersection of energy, real estate, and data protection law, as well as on other compliance matters (ESG, IT security).
  • You will coordinate and handle contract negotiations and contract execution with clients, service providers, and subcontractors in close collaboration with the respective departments.
  • You will use your negotiation skills to assert the company’s legal interests towards third parties and find solutions in the event of disagreement.
  • You will actively participate in the creation, revision, and optimization of contract templates, guidelines, and internal processes, and contribute your own ideas for the continuous improvement of our standards.
  • You will be responsible for establishing and further developing a company-wide contract database.
  • You will oversee collaboration with external legal advisors and law firms.

Profile

  • You are a fully qualified lawyer who has successfully passed the second state law examination.
  • You have 3–5 years of relevant professional experience, ideally at a company or public institution with a focus on energy or real estate law.
  • You work in a structured, solution-oriented, and independent manner—even under time pressure.
  • You are able to present complex legal issues in a clear, target-audience-appropriate, and practical manner.
  • You have a strong focus on acurrate documentation and the structured handling of contracts and contract amendments.
  • You enjoy working in a team and value interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • You have business-fluent German and very good written and spoken English skills (min. C1).

What we offer

  • A job that lays the foundations for using energy and water sustainably and consciously.
  • Permanent position with a fixed salary of between EUR 65 - 75 thousand.
  • Flexible trust-based working hours, part-time option, at least two days of mobile working per week, individual training plan and regular feedback meetings.
  • Germany ticket or job bike, as well as an office with very good public transport connections.
  • A green office, terrace and free drinks.
  • Complete technical equipment.
  • 30 vacation days/year.
  • Company pension scheme.
  • Family-friendly approach to reporting short-term illnesses in children.
